A brief history of what is known about Bill Creswell
1939 cira – Gladys Clements worked as ARP (Air raid Precaution warden)
1940 – Edward and Gladys Clements separate.
1940 – Gladys and Jean move in with Hanney family – 7 Oak Road Bournemouth. (Large house)
1942 – Bill Creswell lived with Gladys Clements.
Renting flat in Palmerston Road, Boscome, near Bournemouth in Dorset though was under Hampshire in the forties.
Living above Hortons ice-cream factory, now a car park opposite Salvation Army.
In 1942 Jeans memories of Bill Creswell – Similar age to Gladys, well spoken, balding, similar look to John Clements, gentleman and definitely English. One day there was a row and he threw his dinner plate against wall. Gladys and Jean left and moved back in with Hanney family in Oak road pregnant with Arthur John Clements (unsure if Bill Creswell new of pregnancy)
28 Feb 1943 – Arthur John Clements born – Nursing home in Sea Road, Bournemouth. Gladys, Jean and John still living with Hanney family.
1945 cira – Gladys, Jean and John move to 1 Alexander road, Southborne. Bedsit. Gladys worked in Cumberland hotel and met Thomas Sinclair (Tom) who was ex-Candian and had a Scottish accent.
1950 – Thomas Sinclair marries Gladys (2nd Marriage). By now Pheobee says that Edward Clements is remarried and living in Reading. (Ron was friends with Edward and had kept in touch) John got on well with Thomas whereas Jean found him harder to get on with although he did give her away on her wedding day to Roy Day. Records show in 1949 in reading marriage to Tribbick
1956 – Thomas Sinclair died
October 1990 – Gladys Mary Sinclair (nee Wyatt) Died aged 90 Bournemouth
Feb 1999 – John Clements died at age 56 in Bournemouth
